We are seeking an experienced construction administration professional with the ability to simultaneously lead a team and manage multiple projects. This CA professional will work closely with the Director of Construction Administration and the firm’s leadership team to identify and solve for processes requiring improvement.
This position will report directly to the Director of CA and will be instrumental in the development and success of the CA department and staff. The candidate will have strong architectural technical knowledge, the ability to identify areas of improvement, and solve complex and complicated construction issues quickly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have construction administration expertise in leading large, complex multi-unit projects. Ability to manage and influence design, delivery and construction, collaborating with owners, consultants, building officials, and contractors to deliver quality buildings both on time and budget.
responsibilities
Coordinate and review submittals, RFI, and ASI with multiple consultants and the Owner to provide clear and specific direction to the contractor’s field personnel
Ensure all CA teams and personnel keep accurate and current logs to allow other team members to know all document status
Attend OAC meetings and perform site visits as the primary representative for the firm with the ability to make on the spot decisions regarding interpretations of Construction Documents and construction related issues. Provide detailed observation reports for submission to project owners.
Determine priorities during construction to complete all project deliverables on time or ahead of schedule.
Work closely with the Director of Construction Administration to identify areas for improvement and assist in facilitating those improvements to the Construction Administration process firm wide.
Review COR, PCO, and CO for validity and provide reports to Owners or Owner’s representative with review comments regarding validity.
requirements
The candidate will have Construction Administration experience primarily while working for an Architecture firm. Additional experience working for a Contractor or Construction Administration company is a bonus.
BA degree in Architecture or BArch with Multi Family Residential Experience is preferred.
10 – 15 years’ experience preferred with 5 – 7 years dedicated CA with an Architecture firm
Project management experience running multiple simultaneous projects with a project budget greater
than $50MM
Strong detailing skills with the ability to deliver in a fast paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on relationship building
Experience interacting with and influencing local building departments, officials, and inspectors to resolve questions or achieve approvals of revisions during construction
Construction & CD Phase QA/QC Experience
Experience using web based construction management software
Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Suite, and Sketch up experience required.
