Introduction

Our client is looking for a strong, experienced engineering manager to lead our Marketplace team and help bring trust and customer satisfaction to the auto-repair industry. This team focuses on search engine performance and customer experience— Our client creates experiences like getting a car repair estimate, browsing and searching a directory of repair shops, scheduling service appointments, creating partner flows, and much more.

  • You are a wizard for engineering process, able to find and fix the bottlenecks in our product delivery efforts.

  • You care deeply about mentoring engineers, not only for higher performance in their job, but for growth in their careers and as people.

  • You are a talented and well-rounded engineer in your own right who knows when to step back and support the team, but who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and contribute directly.

  • You are a diplomat, not a “my way or the highway” type. You know how to collaborate extremely well with folks in product, other engineering teams and other groups within the company.

  • You have your team members’ backs, willing and able to protect their time and their focus while being responsive to business objectives.

  • Don't worry! You don't need to know anything about cars, but you do need to have a strong drive to help consumers and to lead.

requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Bachelors or Masters in computer science, or comparable degree

  • Experience running a web engineering team of any size

Nice to haves

  • Proficient in Ruby on Rails and/or React

  • An open-source portfolio of any size

  • Experience developing multi-sided marketplaces
