Our client is interviewing immediately for a position in their development team. They are a rapidly growing, full-service management, development, and consulting organization. They are a unique development company in that they are the principal owners as well as the developers of the assets, permitting quick decisions and feedback.

responsibilities

This list is a rough sketch of a few things you will commonly encounter in the day-to-day of this position:

  • Creating designs and detailed drawings with necessary views, sections, and details for a variety of projects including mid-rise residential buildings.     

  • Modify drawings based off rough sketches, marked-up copies, and/or verbal instructions.

  • Diligent coordination with MEP engineers, designers and other drafters to ensure minimal delays in construction documents, submittals and permits.  

  • Interaction with permitting agencies including prompt follow up to comments.  

  • Offer timely technical assistance and solutions to the development team and participate in project conference calls and meetings if required.

  • Verify dimensions and location of existing buildings and site work in field.

  • Maintain project drawing files, associated records and documentation in an orderly condition.

  • Experience:

    • Drafting: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's (Preferred)

  • Problem Solving: candidate must be prepared to think on their feet, adapt and find solutions to problems as they arise.

  • Multitasking: capacity to prioritize multiple competing priorities to reliably deliver results with minimal supervision

  • Polished Communication: both verbal and written communication must adhere to the highest standards of professionalism

  • Temperament: maintaining a resilient, positive attitude and receptiveness to feedback are essential.   

  • Technical Skills: fluency with Excel and Word is an absolute necessity; familiarity with AutoCad, Vectorworks, Sketchup, general construction, code, and detailing are all desirable.

  • Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years or more experience as a drafter.

  • Education: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited institution.
